aims to introduce Southeast Asian audience to Taiwanese music

TAIPEI
(Taiwan News) — Taiwanese pianist Chen Rueibin (陳瑞斌) will perform in Singapore on Oct. 11 to
celebrate Taiwan's rich musical history and culture.
The
“Journey Through Time by Rueibin Chen” piano recital will be at the SOTA
Concert Hall. The concert will feature a variety of pieces, including Chen's
signature performances of Frederic Chopin's works.
Chen
aims to use music to share Taiwan's rich history and culture with Southeast
Asian audiences. By performing works by Taiwanese composers, he hopes to
introduce listeners to the unique beauty of Taiwanese music.
The
concert will also include film scores and works by composers from the
Netherlands and Spain. Chen will showcase pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and
Taiwanese composer Chiang Wen-yeh (江文也).
Chen
has performed numerous times in Southeast Asia, including a successful concert
with an orchestra in Malaysia last year. He will continue his tour in Singapore
and Thailand in the following year.
Chen
will also collaborate with the Singapore Art University to conduct
masterclasses.
Chen is the Asian disciple of the late Russian piano master Lazar Berman. At age 16, Chen won the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition in Italy.
