TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese pianist Chen Rueibin (陳瑞斌) will perform in Singapore on Oct. 11 to celebrate Taiwan's rich musical history and culture.

The “Journey Through Time by Rueibin Chen” piano recital will be at the SOTA Concert Hall. The concert will feature a variety of pieces, including Chen's signature performances of Frederic Chopin's works.

Chen aims to use music to share Taiwan's rich history and culture with Southeast Asian audiences. By performing works by Taiwanese composers, he hopes to introduce listeners to the unique beauty of Taiwanese music.

The concert will also include film scores and works by composers from the Netherlands and Spain. Chen will showcase pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and Taiwanese composer Chiang Wen-yeh (江文也).

Chen has performed numerous times in Southeast Asia, including a successful concert with an orchestra in Malaysia last year. He will continue his tour in Singapore and Thailand in the following year.

Chen will also collaborate with the Singapore Art University to conduct masterclasses.

Chen is the Asian disciple of the late Russian piano master Lazar Berman. At age 16, Chen won the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition in Italy.
